Mechanical Filter (also called pressure filter) is an excellent multi-media water purification system, which mainly used to reduce turbidity for feeding water and to remove sand for surface water and groundwater. Also it is used as a pretreatment process for reverse osmosis and ion exchange.

The most commonly used filter media is anthracite, multi-porous ceramic, quartz sand, manganese sand etc..

One single filter media or several kinds of filter media will be used in filtering process to  meet different raw water quality.
